Serpentine Belt – Infiniti (11720JK20A)

Your Infiniti engine relies on a multitude of complex, connected parts that help you enjoy that smooth Infiniti ride you love! Many Components connect through a network of belts, and the Serpentine Belt is among the most important ones.

Your Infinitis Serpentine Belt is a strong, cyclical strap that conduct power through and to the power steering pump, alternators, A/C compressors, and, in some cases, the Water pump. Sometimes the Serpentine Belt is called an accessory belt because it engages your Infiniti engines peripheral devices. But, dont underestimate its importance.

Serpentine Belts are generally made of tough-but-flexible rubber engineeRed to w/ stand the friction and heat involved in transferring energy From one engine component to the next. However, like any other part, they are subject to wear and tear.

w/ age, Serpentine Belts can fray or crack or they can act up if sOaked w/ oil or coolant. They can also lose alignment, slip, or lack tension, because of faulty tensioners, which may necessitate Serpentine Belt and tensioner replacements, or re-adjusting the belt, depending on its condition. A few signs that you might have Serpentine Belt problems include: rattling or squealing sounds coming From the engine, subpar Air Conditioning or steering Capabilities, engine sweltering, and visible signs of wear on the belt.

Generally, your Infiniti Serpentine Belt can last many thousands of miles, but its life can be cut short due to lack of Maintenance, oil leaks, and other issues. Its a good idea to inspect your Serpentine Belt during every oil change, or get a professional inspection From an Infiniti service center in your area.

The requiRed method for a Serpentine Belt replacement depends on the Type of tensioner youre dealing w/ . Consequently, its best to check your Infinitis Manual before replacing the Serpentine Belt yourself.

Note that if your Infiniti relies on a Manual or hydraulic tensioner for the Serpentine Belt, it may be a smarter choice to visit your nearest Infiniti experts for professional assistance.

Once youre all set up, snap a photo of your belts current placement and of how it intertwines w/ other Engine Components. Then, release the tensioner using a ratchet and gently unravel the Serpentine Belt, taking care not to mess w/ any accessories.

Once youve removed the old Serpentine Belt, check it for signs of oil leaks, cracks, and damage to uncover any underlying issues that are not Serpentine Belt-specific. Re-wind the new Serpentine Belt in the old ones place and re-activate the tensioner, tightening it w/ a wrench.
